Arivva is a place of opportunity offering a variety of visual arts programs.
Arivva provides an ongoing arts-focused after-school program catering to high school students in the local community. We collaborate with multiple school districts in Pierce County to make this possible.
Our approach integrates state-of-the-art technology, engaging courses, and supportive mentors to empower young individuals in discovering their passion for the arts and nurturing their educational journey, extending well beyond high school. Additionally, we extend our services to include family-oriented classes for younger students in grades K-8, where they can participate alongside an adult family member.

In our adult classes, you’ll explore a diverse range of ceramic hand-building techniques, such as coil work, pinch pots, and slab work. These methods empower you to create a wide array of ceramic pieces, from functional items like bowls and vases to intricate sculptures.
You’ll also delve into the art of joining clay elements seamlessly, adding unique textures to your creations, and applying glazes for color and finish. Our classes provide hands-on experience with various clay types and specialized ceramic tools, enabling you to transform clay into your desired shapes and cherished works of art.
Arivva’s Family Classes are thoughtfully designed to foster creativity among families as they come together to create clay art. These classes welcome children of all ages, with the stipulation that those aged 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult guardian, be it a parent, grandparent, guardian, aunt, uncle, adult sibling, or a family friend, who will actively participate during the class.
Initially conceived for families with younger siblings of students in our high school program, our family classes have gained popularity as an enjoyable and collaborative activity. These sessions are offered at no cost for youths aged 18 and under, while adults can join for a fee of $25. The class offerings typically align with the seasons, guiding families in crafting ceramic mugs, bowls, plates, and vases—ideal for holiday gifts or during school breaks.
