Youth Visual Arts

Arivva is a place of opportunity offering youth arts programs.

We offer a year-round, after-school arts-based program for local high school students. We partner with several school districts in Pierce County.

Our programs use a combination of high-tech tools, compelling classes, and caring adults to help youth explore the arts and pursue their education in high school and beyond. Students are recruited through their schools and our programs are open to any student in grades 9-12. We also offer family classes for younger students in grades K-8 attending with an adult family member. Classes are at no cost for students and adults pay a small cost. Students are required to maintain a good record of attendance and behavior.

Youth Ceramics classes offer hands-on instruction, allowing students to shape their own pottery or work with high-tech equipment to unleash their creativity. Courses include:

    • Experienced instructors who are also accomplished working artists
    • Access to state-of-the-art materials and equipment
    • Encouragement and support from adults who care
    • Opportunities to turn creative visual arts into transferable skills
